Pumpkin #1

Oct 17, 2009      Wind Conditions: Medium

RC was out with little time to spare getting a course set that would provide three decent race courses for the 5 boats that ventured out in the cold but sunny weather. The start was delayed a bit for Spirit to get there with the starting equipment. But doesn't that horn system do a nice job! No flags needed. Everyone was right on time at the start. Jam got the best start to the left but decided to tack across the fleet and go to the right. Spirit continued left not quite to the layline. As it was the further north you went the wind turned left thus Spirit had the inside lift to the mark and round first. The rest of the boats were tight at the mark and rode a nice breeze down and caught right back up.

Pumpkin #2

Oct 17, 2009      Wind Conditions: Medium

RC added an additional 1/2 leg to an I-1 giving us an extra downwind to the finish. And it added about an extra 10 minutes with plenty of time for a third. Spirit won this one with a little bit more of a cushion.

Pumpkin #3

Oct 17, 2009      Wind Conditions: Medium

RC stretched out an I-1 course to the south around all of Canoe making for a fun leeward rounding. Uncle Ludwig got off to a good start by rounding the weather mark and leading us downwind along with Jupiter right with him. Spirit and Jam were neck and neck with Wizard taking Canoe wide. The rest of us played leap frog close to the islands' shore with Jam taking a big leap ahead to lead the rest of us to the finish. in just under 50 minutes.
